Who Are the Best Golf Instructors in Arlington, TX?
The golf instructors at Golf Center of Arlington are Robert Galan, who teaches private lessons, junior golf and the Women's Golf Clinic through the Golf Integrated Skills Program; Tod Chasczewski, MS, a TPI Certified Level 3 Golf Coach who runs the $120 TPI screen; and summer camp coaches Tim and Paul. Here's how to judge any instructor.

Nobody can honestly rank every golf teacher in Arlington for you. What we can do is tell you exactly who teaches at Golf Center of Arlington, what each person does, and the questions worth asking any instructor before you hand over money. Use the checklist on whoever you're considering, including us.
How do you judge whether a golf instructor is any good?
Credentials matter, but they are not the whole story. The best instructor for you is the one whose method you can take to the course without them standing next to you. Run any teacher through these six checks.
- Do they teach a system or a collection of tips? A system builds one skill on the last one. Tips pile up and contradict each other.
- Does the lesson end on time or when you're ready? Clock-based lessons stop whether or not the point landed. Performance-based lessons end when you can repeat the skill.
- Do they start with the short game? Putting and chipping are where most strokes are lost and where beginners get results fastest. An instructor who starts every student with the driver is teaching the flashy part first.
- Can you see your results? Toptracer or TrackMan data turns "that felt better" into numbers you can track between lessons.
- Do they teach your kind of student? Juniors, adult beginners, women returning to the game and tournament players need different approaches. Ask who they teach most.
- Can they explain why, not just what? If you understand why a change works, you can fix yourself mid-round. That is the real test of a lesson.
Every instructor profiled below can be measured against this list. The full program they teach from is described on our golf lessons page.
Robert Galan: golf instructor for adults, juniors and the Women's Golf Clinic
Decades of experience, one clear method
Robert Galan brings decades of golf experience and a lifelong passion for the game to every lesson. He has spent years both playing and studying golf, and he teaches from a single system, the Golf Integrated Skills Program, rather than a grab bag of swing thoughts.
Robert's students range from adults picking up a club for the first time to competitive juniors preparing for tournaments. He also leads the Women's Golf Clinic, a one-hour, pay-as-you-go group session that runs separately from the men's clinic. His focus in every setting is the same: help the golfer build confidence, improve the fundamentals and enjoy the game more.
Private lessons with Robert are booked by appointment. Junior lessons for ages 5–17 are grouped by age and ability, and private group lessons are available for siblings, friends and organized groups. Details are on the junior golf page.

"Robert has been amazing with our son! He is patient, encouraging, and makes every lesson fun. We've seen a huge improvement in both his golf skills and confidence."

Tod Chasczewski, MS: TPI Certified Level 3 Golf Coach
Tod Chasczewski holds a master's degree and is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Level 3 Golf Coach. At Golf Center of Arlington he runs the TPI golf screen: a series of 16 tests of strength and mobility that uncover the physical limitations affecting your ability to swing the club. The screen costs $120.
This is a different kind of instruction from a swing lesson. Instead of changing your motion, Tod identifies what your body can and cannot do, then points you toward golf-specific exercises that increase strength and functional ability. The payoff is a more efficient, more powerful swing that your body can actually produce. Golfers with back pain, a loss of distance, or a fault that won't go away no matter how many lessons they take are the usual candidates.
Read what a TPI screening is and who needs one, or go straight to the Titleist Performance page to book.
Many golfers get the best results by doing the TPI screen before a series of swing lessons. Once your instructor knows which physical limits you're working with, the lesson plan can work around them instead of fighting them.
Tim and Paul: Junior Summer Golf Camp coaches
Tim and Paul coach the Junior Summer Golf Camp at Golf Center of Arlington, a four-day program for ages 7–15 that teaches full swing fundamentals, putting and short game, rules and etiquette, and on-course strategy through games and friendly competitions. The camp's coaching includes an experienced First Tee golfer, and campers are grouped by age and skill so beginners and returning kids each get the right pace.
"The Junior Summer Golf Camp with Tim and Paul was fantastic! The coaches kept the kids engaged while teaching golf fundamentals, sportsmanship, and confidence."
— Ashley P., Mansfield, TX
Camp dates are announced each spring and tuition runs $199–$299. The Summer Camp page has the current season's details, policies and the waiting list.
What teaching method do lessons at Golf Center of Arlington follow?
All instruction here runs through the Golf Integrated Skills Program. Two ideas define it. First, lessons are performance-based: the lesson ends when you're ready, not when the clock runs out. Second, the swing is built from the putting green back to the tee box, so you own your swing and can get yourself back on track during a round without your teacher beside you.
Beginners start in the Development Program, which has four levels of competency.
| Level | Emphasis | You finish when you can… |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Short game; grip, stance, posture, aim, ball position; basic rules and etiquette | Repeat the basic motion: putting and chipping |
| Level 2 | Half swing; how the body works in relation to the swing | Hit punch and half pitch shots on command |
| Level 3 | Full swing with irons and woods; sand play; flop shots | Produce a rhythmic, repeatable full swing |
| Level 4 | Course management, rules, scoring, risk and reward | Play a full round with a legitimate score logged |
Advanced golfers move to the Refinement Program: short game skills, full swing mechanics on TrackMan, mental preparation, fitness, nutrition, course management, tournament preparation and performance factors. Season-long or goal-based programs (break 90, for example) are built and reassessed with your instructor. Golf balls are included in every lesson.
Private lessons with Robert Galan are booked by appointment and follow the Golf Integrated Skills Program. Balls included; bring your own clubs or ask about options when you arrive.
Book a LessonWhat makes a lesson here different from a lesson at a course?
The teaching venue shapes the lesson. Golf Center of Arlington is a Top 50 U.S. golf range with 18 covered, heated bays, each with a Toptracer screen, plus 28 natural-grass hitting areas. That combination gives an instructor tools most course pros don't have at the lesson tee.
Toptracer on every bay
Carry, ball speed, launch angle and accuracy on the screen for every swing, so instructor and student see the same numbers.
TrackMan for advanced work
Refinement Program lessons put full swing mechanics on TrackMan: club path, face angle, attack angle, spin rate and swing video.
Free short game area
Putting green, chipping green and sand bunkers, free with any bucket, so Level 1 skills get practiced between lessons.
Rain or shine
Covered, heated bays mean a January cold snap or a spring downpour doesn't cancel your lesson.
Which instructor should you book first?
Match the person to the problem. Here's the short version.
- Brand-new adult golfer. Book a private lesson with Robert Galan, or try the group clinic first ($30 members / $37 non-members). Our guide for adult beginners choosing a golf instructor walks through the decision.
- Woman starting or returning to golf. The Women's Golf Clinic with Robert is the lowest-pressure entry point: one hour, clubs provided, pay-as-you-go.
- Kid aged 5–17. Junior private lessons with Robert, grouped by age and ability. For ages 7–15 in summer, the camp with Tim and Paul.
- Pain, lost distance or a fault that won't fix. Start with the $120 TPI screen with Tod Chasczewski, then take the results into lessons.
- Great on the range, bad on the course. Ask about mental performance coaching; the initial 30-minute consultation is free. See the mental coaching page.

Beginners progress through a four-level Development Program; advanced players use the Refinement Program, which includes full swing work on TrackMan, mental preparation, fitness and tournament prep.
Do the instructors teach kids?

Tim and Paul coach the four-day Junior Summer Golf Camp for ages 7–15. Equipment is available if your child doesn't have clubs, and quality junior clubs are sold at the clubhouse.
Should I get a TPI screen before taking lessons?
It's a smart order for many golfers, especially anyone with back or joint pain, a recent loss of distance, or a swing fault that lessons haven't fixed. Tod Chasczewski's 16-test screen shows which strength and mobility limits are shaping your swing, so a lesson plan can work with your body rather than against it. The screen costs $120 at Golf Center of Arlington.

Yes. The easiest low-commitment option at Golf Center of Arlington is a one-hour group clinic, $37 for non-members, with clubs and balls provided and no package to buy.
