Arlington OKs boutique riverside sports resort

RiverPark Arlington is set to start later this year.

An Arlington-based developer says it wants to build an 87-room sports-oriented resort on the West Fork of the Trinity River.

The RiverPark Arlington project is proposed to start construction later this year.

Type Six Design & Development recently won approvals from Arlington’s city council for the project.

“This experiential hotel incorporates a wide array of outdoor activities, including a driving range, putting green, swimming, tennis, padel (racquet) courts, 12 miles of trails and canoeing,” the developer’s website says. “The hotel will also offer full-service dining, gastro-pub, pro shop and more.”

The project will also include meeting and event space and a gym and sports recovery center.

Golf Center of Arlington owner Mauricio Galante will own and operate the resort, which totals more than 150,000 square feet.
